The headmistress at Vestjyllands Højskole is our lifeful leader Else Mathiassen who loves good and creative suggestions and excellent ideas. She puts a lot of effort in creating a dialogue through art.

She is an actor, dancer, storyteller and globetrotter. When she was only 14 years old she started travelling in Denmark with the first theatre group. Later on the desire for meeting other cultures brought her to the Mapuche-indians in chile, Africa, the Arabian countries , and Cuba. All the time she was dancing and acting.

Else Mathiassen became headmistress at the school in 2002 and before that she had been teaching at the school for 14 years. In the year of 2005 she was awarded with the "Culture prize" for her tremendously work in West Jutland.
